Our History, and Who We Are
“many voices, coming together, – grassroots leaders, advocates, and community members from across the country, united by a common goal: to ensure that our rights, health, and dignity are respected” – Cathy Ketepa, KPAC Chairlady
Formed in 2018, the Key Population Advocacy Consortium (KPAC) was established as a national coalition uniting key population networks across Papua New Guinea.
Seven national networks joined the consortium at its inception: Kapul Champions, Friends Frangipani, Igat Hope PNG, Hetura Network Association, Youth LEAD PNG, Community TB Advocacy, and the Consumer Network NCD.
KPAC’s vision is to improve the quality of life for key and affected populations through unity, capacity building, and collaboration. Its mission focuses on providing leadership, mobilizing resources, and advancing advocacy efforts.
Since 2021, KPAC has secured funding and support from a range of partners to support delivery of the community-led response to TB, HIV and other STIs. Please see our Partnerships page to learn more about who we work with, and to find out how you can partner with KPAC to support its work.
KPAC is governed by a Board of Delegates and led by Executive Director Lesley Bola, who is supported by a team of Secretariat staff.
KPAC is fortunate to have a passionate and committed group of volunteers who represent KPAC’s national member organisations, who provide their time and their lived-experience expertise.
