Support For Our

National Members

KPAC PNG empowers members through capacity building, funding access, and advocacy to lead sustainable, community-driven responses across Papua New Guinea.

Supporting our National Members

As the national secretariat, KPAC PNG plays a central role in strengthening and supporting its member organisations to lead effective, sustainable, and coordinated community responses.

Through tailored capacity building, governance mentoring, and organisational development, KPAC helps members to grow their leadership and systems while maintaining strong community roots. The secretariat also supports members to access funding opportunities, implement joint programs, and engage in collective advocacy—amplifying their impact and ensuring the voices of key, vulnerable, and affected populations are heard at every level of decision-making in Papua New Guinea.

Building Strong, Sustainable Member Organisations

KPAC PNG is committed to strengthening the organisations that make up its consortium. The Secretariat works closely with members to build their governance, systems, and leadership — helping them register formally, meet national compliance requirements, and develop constitutions, strategic plans, and key policies.

Through tailored mentoring and practical support, KPAC ensures each member has the tools and confidence to operate effectively, deliver quality programs, and represent their communities with strength. This focus on capacity building helps create sustainable, locally led organisations driving the HIV, TB, and broader health equity response across Papua New Guinea.

Supporting Members to Access Funding and Technical Assistance

KPAC PNG helps its member organisations access the resources and expertise they need to grow and sustain their work. Many community-led networks face barriers to funding or eligibility, so KPAC often partners with them to co-develop proposals or apply on their behalf. This approach ensures members can participate in larger funding opportunities while continuing to strengthen their systems, governance, and independence.

The Secretariat also connects members with technical support and training to build capacity in areas such as governance, financial management, monitoring and evaluation, and program design. By linking members to the right partners and expertise, KPAC ensures each organisation can access the tools and knowledge needed to deliver stronger, community-led programs and contribute meaningfully to Papua New Guinea’s HIV, TB, and broader health response.

KPAC PNG brings its members together to lead collective action — strengthening both advocacy and program delivery through a unified national voice. The consortium model allows member organisations to collaborate on shared priorities, combining their reach, experience, and expertise to drive change for key, vulnerable, and affected populations across Papua New Guinea.

This approach is at the heart of KPAC’s flagship Community-Led Monitoring (CLM) program, where members work side by side as community monitors to track the quality and accessibility of HIV and TB services. Together, they identify barriers, highlight best practices, and advocate for system-wide improvements that ensure services are equitable and inclusive.

Beyond CLM, KPAC supports its members to engage jointly in national platforms such as the HIV Technical Working Group, Country Coordinating Mechanism, and major advocacy events like World AIDS Day. The consortium also coordinates joint peer-led outreach activities, ensuring consistent messaging, collaboration, and strong community representation in every province.

Through these shared efforts, KPAC PNG and its members amplify their collective voice — influencing policy, improving programs, and ensuring that communities most affected by HIV, TB, and other health challenges are meaningfully involved in shaping the national response.
